On all railways, claim officers tour on advertised dates and hold camps at important business centers to entertain and settle claims on the spot. The zonal railways have also advised to start more and more mobile claims offices. Based on the reports received from some of the railways, it is seen that the procedure is being followed and is working satisfactorily.

Commodity Cell

In order to provide single window clearance to claims from major customers i.e. regular customers giving sufficiently large tonnage of freight traffic to the Railways, Commodity Cells are functioning at Zonal Headquarters. In such commodity cells, all the formalities for processing a claims case for a particular commodity can be fulfilled.
